Early cardiovascular risk intervention means cummulation of positive impacts in time

Bylo zjištěno, že geneticky determinovaná příznivá konstelace kardiovaskulárních (KV) rizikových faktorů je spojena s významně nižším rizikem KV-příhod. To vedlo k myšlence napodobit toto geneticky dané nízké riziko farmakologickou intervencí rizikových faktorů. Včasná kompenzace vysokého krevního tlaku a LDL-cholesterolu znamená dlouhodobé příznivé působení lepší kontroly těchto rizik. Kardiovaskulární rizikové faktory se často vyskytují již v mladších věkových kategoriích a často se objevují společně. Včasná intervence, zejména při současném zahájení léčby hypertenze a dyslipidemie, může zabránit progresi aterosklerózy a vzniku následných KV-příhod.
